*Novice Race
The Novice race is new for this season. It is there to encourage Adults and Youths who fancy a go at cyclo-cross racing but who are put off by their lack of experience. You will not be eligible for any points or prizes and it will be held under the British Cycling “go race” rules – this means you do not need a licence and can race on any suitable bike – Cyclo-cross, Gravel or MTB. The race is open to all adults and children aged 12 and over (age on 31st August 2024). You will be permitted to enter a maximum of 5 Novice races in the season, after which we expect you to step up to the full age appropriate race category. This race will be reviewed after every event and you may be asked to move up to your age appropriate race sooner, if we feel your ability warrants it. This is in the interests of safety as per our British Cycling insurance guidelines.
